Jacob Dudman was raised in Ripon, a small historical town by the Yorkshire Dales in the North East of England. He grew up alongside his two younger sisters. Both of his parents are primary school headteachers. Attending St.Aidan's High School in Harrogate, he never studied Drama. From home, he uploaded impressions and comedy sketches onto YouTube, amassing over 100,000 subscribers before stepping away from the platform. It was only after leaving school that he decided to pursue directing as a career, studying Film Production at the University of the Arts in London. To understand acting from a director's point of view, he attended some introductory acting classes and quickly fell in love with the craft. He continued to study under the same teacher for 4 years. During his first year of university, Dudman released his first short film 'Save The Rhino Vietnam' - a documentary co-starring Paul Blackthorne, investigating the Rhino poaching crisis. WWF called it "Heartwarming", while acclaimed film maker Eric Goode said "People need to watch this". Between this and lectures, he enjoyed producing content for BBC WorldWide and landing a role as the titular character in 'Doctor Who' for the audio range. In early 2018 (aged 20) Dudman signed with an agent and quickly landed his first television role as the male lead of BBC teen drama The A List (Kindle Entertainment/Lionsgate). He continues to be active in the industry today.
