Taylor Mac - who uses "judy" as a gender pronoun - is a playwright, actor, singer-songwriter, performance artist, director and producer. Judy's work has been performed in hundreds of venues including on Broadway and in New York's Town Hall, Lincoln Center, Celebrate Brooklyn, and Playwrights Horizons, as well as London's Hackney Empire and Barbican, The Kennedy Center, Los Angeles's Royce Hall and Ace Theater, Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre, the Sydney Opera House, The Melbourne Festival (Forum Theater), Stockholm's Sodra Theatern, the Spoleto Festival, and San Francisco's Curran Theater and MOMA. Mac is the 2020 International Ibsen Award winner, a MacArthur Fellow, a Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama, a Tony nominated playwright, and the recipient of multiple awards including the Kennedy Prize, a NY Drama Critics Circle Award, a Doris Duke Performing Artist Award, a Guggenheim, the Herb Alpert in Theater, the Peter Zeisler Memorial Award, the Helen Merrill Playwriting Award, 2 Bessies, 2 Obies, a Helpmann, and an Ethyl Eichelberger Award. An alumnus of New Dramatists, judy has been a Usual Suspect at New York Theater Workshop and the Resident playwright at the Here Arts Center. Taylor McCluskey was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He began acting at a very young age, appearing in various plays and modeling in print advertisements. Throughout high school, Taylor became an accomplished athlete, rowing for Capital Crew. He moved to Los Angeles in 2002 to pursue his career in acting after winning a talent competition in Universal City. At the age of 18, he booked his first national commercial for Nestea. He studied film at UCLA while interning at Handmade Films. As a student, he worked on numerous film and TV projects to gain as much hands-on knowledge of the industry as he could.
